How Canadians Communicate V: Sports

Editors: Chris Waddell and David Taras

Waddell cover

WaddellAbout the Editor: Chris Waddell holds the Carty Chair in Business and Financial Journalism at Carleton University’s School of Journalism and Communication.

About the Book: Fewer Canadians than ever are lacing up skates, swimming lengths at the pool, practicing their curve ball, and experiencing the thrill of competition. At the same time, we’re spending more time and money watching other people compete in the Olympics, the NHL, the Major Leagues, and on other professional teams. It’s a trend that’s changing both professional sports and fans.

About the Panel: Chris Waddell will be joined by Roy MacGregor (Journalist from the Globe and Mail), Jennifer Brenning (Carleton Director, Recreation and Athletics) and Dave Best (Algonquin College Sport Business Management).

This event is part of the Ottawa International Writer’s Festival.
