Purpose: The purpose of this study is to evaluate the effectiveness of the Neuralign intervention for improving students’ reading skills. We are also interested in the effect of the program on students’ reading attitudes and confidence.

Intervention: Neuralign is an online intervention that provides a multi-pronged approach to help struggling readers.

“Neuralign is a powerful cognitive training program for people with dyslexia and other reading difficulties. Neuralign is delivered online in a growing list of countries and languages, through qualified and exclusive local licensees.”  – Neuralign

This intervention program is a 13-week program, participants complete activities that train phonological skills, cognitive skills and attention. It includes:

  •  3 weeks of cognitive training (1hr/day x 5 days per week).
  • 10 weeks of reading practice (approximately 15 min/day X 5 days per week).
  • Our researchers will also test the students’ reading and cognitive skills before and after the intervention.

*Testing will be in-person sessions at the moment.

You can visit the Neuralign website to learn more about the program.

Funding: The Neuralign project is funded by a MITACS grant, and matching funds from Neuralign (led by Ingrid Poupart). This Neuralign project is in collaboration with Dr. Jo-Anne LeFevre at Carleton University. The researchers will not benefit financially from the recruitment of participants or from the research findings.
