Alex Aitken

Degrees:MSc Chemistry with specialization in Chemical and Environmental Toxicology (2023), BSc Chemistry (Carleton University, 2019)

Alex purified and structurally characterized natural products from endophytes of bearing plants to identify strains producing compounds that inhibit pathogens of the host plants. He was co-supervised by Mark Sumarah (research scientist; AAFC and adjunct professor; Carleton University). After graduation, Alex joined Sciex in Vaughan as a hardware verification specialist. Alex has several articles with the group.
