David is a natural products chemist studying chemical interactions between microorganisms and their environment through the biosynthesis of secondary metabolites. His research group investigates environmental and food contaminants, with a focus on natural toxins produced by both cyanobacteria and fungi. David teaches undergraduate courses that explore analytical methods for chemical contaminants in the environmental and chemical risk assessment. He started as an assistant professor in the Department of Chemistry at Carleton University in 2018.
