Prof. Örmeci has an internationally recognized research program on wastewater and biosolids treatment and supervises a very active research group. Her lab provides a positive, stimulating, and hands-on learning environment, and her students receive prestigious awards and competitive scholarships. The students are given opportunities to present at national and international conferences, publish in high quality peer-reviewed journals, and have the first authorship. The training level in her lab is exceptional and the students have access to a fully-equipped research lab and use leading-edge methods in their research.

Prof. Örmeci received the Carleton Faculty Graduate Mentoring Award in 2011, which shows the recognition of her efforts for the training of students. Some of the achievements of our current and most recent group members are highlighted below.
