The OSDL research space is housed in a fully furnished wet lab located in MC5041B of the Minto Centre Building.

The lab is equipped with a variety of direct printing and additive manufacturing systems including aerosol jet printer, inkjet printer, an extrusion jet system for soft polymers and thermoplastics, 3D printers for packaging and prototyping, an atomic layer deposition system, a fumehood with spin coater, blade coating system and screen printing systems. In addition, optical and AFM surface characterization is available for assessing thin films and nanomaterial surfaces. The deposition infrastructure is complemented by a semi-automatic probe station, semiconductor parameter analyzer, precision impedance analyzer, and spectrophotometer for sensor and device validation studies.

Our research activities are further supported by the excellent personnel at the Carleton University Microfabrication Facility (CUMFF) and the Carleton University Nanofab (CU Nanofab).
