If you are tired of using brainstorming as the main technique for generating new ideas in groups, come and learn about a new technique for improvisation that is as fun as it is innovative!
Description
Generating creative ideas is an important factor for developing successful concepts. Some say that this can be achieved through out-of box thinking process or during improvisational procedures. In the context of interdisciplinary collaboration, some participants are not familiar with generating ideas or experienced in creating ideas through serendipity or improvisation. This workshop proposes a new group idea generation method called “Random Ideation” situating participants in an unexpected situation for generating new ideas.
Target Audience
A faculty member who:
- has never been trained to create new ideas;
- is familiar only with brainstorming as a group ideation method;
- has never experienced creating ideas through serendipitous or improvisational processes
