Bio:
Mahmoud Yassin is a PhD student at the Department of Systems and Computer Engineering, at Carleton University. He holds an MS in Electrical Engineering from King Fahd University of Petroleum & Minerals (KFUPM), Saudi Arabia, and a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) focused on Communications and Electronics Engineering from the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport (AAST), Egypt, (Distinction with Honor and top of his class).
He worked as a Graduate Teaching Assistant at KFUPM, where he taught laboratory and undergraduate courses, mentored students, and assisted faculty members with various academic activities. He previously held a similar position at AAST, where he taught multiple undergraduate courses.
In prior roles, he served as a soldier engineer at the Military Technical College in Cairo, Egypt. He also worked as a site engineer at GLEXTEL Company in Egypt, where he installed and configured Huawei RTN 900 & 950 equipment. His research interests include cybersecurity, image encryption, chaos-based cryptography, multimedia security, and communications security.
