Thomas Morton
Thomas Morton is Senior Lecturer in Psychology at Exeter University. His current research investigates the role of group memberships and social connections in supporting physical, cognitive and mental health across the lifespan. Much of this work is supported by a European Commission PROGRESS grant (with Catherine Haslam) to explore the role of social media in improving the lives of older people receiving care. He is also interested in the way that members of groups that are devalued or marginalized manage their identities in relation to others. This work is supported by a multidisciplinary European Commission INTERREG grant exploring the stigmatizing effects of facial disfigurement.
