This past September, in partnership with Brenda Morris, the Lab hosted a visit from Dr. Carmel Halton, former Director of the Masters of Social Work Program and Postgraduate Diploma in Social Work Studies at University College Cork (Ireland) and a part-time faculty member engaged in social work teaching, PhD supervision, professional consultation and practice research. This visit provided an invaluable opportunity exchanging ideas for teaching and research on reflective practice using simulation. Dr Halton has had a distinguished career shaping professional pedagogy.

Dr. Halton was very impressed with the Lab and it’s potential to transform social work research and pedagogy. Her visit gave the Lab team an invaluable opportunity to think about simulation and its role in community partnerships to further social work research and pedagogy.

Thank you, Dr. Halton!
