“Minôjitonigewin” (Min-O-jiton-eh-geh-win) is an expression or explanation for someone doing something skillfully and with good intent, it can be used in crafting, writing and painting – meaning someone has honed a skill. Minôjitonigewin is an Algonquin word, and this award was named by an Algonquin knowledge keeper and student at Carleton University.
