On June 4th, Elvire Fabry, a Senior Research Fellow with the Jacques Delors Institute cooperating with the Network through the University of Antwerp, sat down for a video interview to discuss the strategy used by European Union negotiator Michel Barnier to maintain bloc unity during the Brexit talks, and how this could be applied to the various other challenges the Union is facing – particularly regarding China.
Professor Fabry is one of the scholars associated with the Jean Monnet Network on Transatlantic Trade Politics. Her scholarly work focuses on bilateral trade negotiations, investment, global governance, WTO reform, Brexit, the Belt and Road Initiative and perceptions of globalization.
The interview was conducted with Frédérick Lavoie.
