Andrew Robbins (he/they) is a doctoral candidate in Media Studies at the University of Oregon. He researches queer and trans* film festivals and is writing a social history of the San Francisco Transgender Film Festival (1997-present).
Andrew comes from a cultural studies tradition, having completed his master’s degree in the School of Culture and Communication at The University of Melbourne, Australia. Andrew lived outside of the US between 2009-2015, working, volunteering, and studying in Denmark, Singapore, and Australia. He is co-founder of Oregon’s first trans and genderqueer film festival, Rewire Film Festival.
