Student Bio
Icaro completed his undergraduate studies in Telematics and soon after started a master’s degree in computer science focusing on software-defined networks. However, he had to put it on hold due to a job offer in Canada. After settling down in Canada, Icaro pursued a graduate certificate in software engineering and decided to pursue his master’s degree one more time. So, in June 2021, Icaro has been admitted to the Master of Science and Information Technology program at UniversitĂ© du QuĂ©bec en Outaouais (UQO).
Throughout his master’s, Icaro became interested in machine learning and the possibilities of applying it in several domains.
In his professional career, Icaro has been working mainly in R&D and enterprise development and has more than 13 years of experience as a software engineer designing and building large scale solutions. He also has experience as a teaching assistant in post-secondary institutions.
As part of the UTILI CREATE program, Icaro hopes to contribute, learn, and network with both academic and industry partners. He’s also looking forward to solving problems by applying machine learning techniques in the context of Remotely Piloted Aircraft Systems (RPAS)
