Student Bio
Louis Catar is a French double-degree student. After two years of preparatory classes for the leading universities in mathematics, physics-chemistry and engineering sciences in Paris, he joined the École Nationale Supérieure des Arts et Métiers ParisTech to follow general theoretical and applied studies (mechanical, industrial, and energy engineering).
He has completed several internships in the defence industry and with the French Atomic Energy Commission. His multidisciplinary studies lead him to innovate and propose disruptive technical approaches.
Since 2021, he has pursuing a PhD at École de Technologie Supérieure in Montreal. Passionate about complex systems, he develops his interest in aerospace by working on the combination of additive manufacturing techniques and aerostat UAVs in the INIT Robots laboratory under the co-supervision of Dr. David St-Onge and Dr. Ilyass Tabiai.
As the aeronautical world is undergoing profound changes, this UTILI program and the meeting of a network of manufacturers around UAV technology is a real opportunity for him to think about future breakthrough technologies in this field, as well as the applications of these advances in the industrial landscape to come.
