Student Bio

Nourah Al Saud completed her BEng in Aerospace Engineering with Pilot Studies at the University of Liverpool in 2020 with an emphasis on aircraft design and performance, rotorcraft, and spaceflight. She graduated with a class 1 honours classification and the IMECHE best student of the year award. During her undergraduate studies, she worked at Saudi Aramco and Surrey Satellite Technology as a summer intern and gained experience with basic aircraft maintenance and prototype design and testing. As a pilot studies student, her keen interest in flying and flight simulation inspired her undergraduate project investigating the fidelity of low-cost flight simulators using an Arduino-based flight data recorder.

Guided by her curiosity in the growing field of autonomous vehicles and the desire to expand her engineering knowledge, Nourah is currently enrolled in a Master of Applied Science program in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Ottawa under the supervision of Professor Eric Lanteigne. Her current research is primarily focused on the system identification and full state model development of an autonomous blimp.
