Dr. Van De Ven is looking for enthusiastic undergraduate summer research students (May 2023), MASc students (May and Sept 2023), and PhD students (May and Sept 2023) to join the research team. Applicants should have a background in civil engineering, environmental engineering, geological engineering, geosciences, environmental sciences, or related fields.
Projects include:
- Quantification of greenhouse gas production and emissions from landfills
- Greenhouse gas reduction from landfills
- Contaminant migration during permafrost thaw
- Environmental impacts of hydrogen storage
- Environmental monitoring in the critical zone
- Gas-water flow numerical modeling
