Consultation 2024-25

In 2018, a collaborative process to develop Carleton University’s Coordinated Accessibility Strategy (CAS) began. The consultation process was undertaken, with multiple phases of feedback, to help ensure that the diverse voices of our community could be represented in Carleton’s first CAS. As we approach 2025, we are required to review the strategy again to ensure it is responsive and supportive to the evolving accessibility needs of our community.

The CAS Renewal Advisory Committee has approved the following work plan and timeline.

Process Consultation Phase

Conduct gap analysis including emerging considerations (e.g., PSE AODA) to build on previous and current work. May to July 2024 Completed

Listening Phase

Open an online feedback form about identified areas of focus, as well as any other areas that may not be previously identified and general comments, for those who wish to participate digitally. October 15, 2024 Completed
Reach out to key stakeholder groups including labour unions, student governments and student groups to receive feedback. October 2024
Host information and feedback sessions for students, faculty (including contract instructors, sessional lecturers, teaching assistants, etc.), staff (including academic and administrative staff), and senior administration. Additional sessions will be made available upon request for any key stakeholder groups including labour unions, student governments, and student groups. Requests can be submitted to AccessibilityStrategy@cunet.carleton.ca. Mid-October to November 2024
