PEAC 400: Embedding Accessibility into Strategic Planning
The Challenge You’re Likely Facing
You’re expected to deliver strategies that are inclusive, resilient, and measurable. But without clear frameworks to assess accessibility, engage stakeholders meaningfully, or evaluate impact, inclusion can be difficult to embed into strategy in a way that lasts. Too often, accessibility is well-intentioned—yet hard to translate into accountable, long-term outcomes.
PEAC 400: Strategic Planning with an Accessibility Lens equips managers, planners, and decision-makers with practical tools to embed accessibility into the core of organizational strategy—moving beyond intention to measurable action. You’ll build practical skills to assess accessibility, engage community partners, and develop strategic plans that drive sustainable, long-term change across sectors.
Ideally Designed For
- Managers and Planners: Professionals looking to integrate accessibility into broader organizational strategies rather than treating it solely as a compliance issue.
- Decision-Makers and Policy Developers: Leaders who have the authority to influence long-term initiatives, drive change, and set key performance metrics.
- Diversity & Inclusion Officers: Individuals aiming to embed inclusive practices and ensure that accessibility is a core organizational value.
- Stakeholder Engagement Professionals: Those tasked with involving diverse communities, including persons with disabilities, in the planning and decision-making processes.
What You’ll Learn
By the end of PEAC 400, you will learn how to:
- Evaluate Accessibility: Use practical assessment tools to understand your organization’s current accessibility landscape and identify meaningful gaps.
- Engage Community Partners: Design and lead inclusive consultations, focus groups, interviews, and surveys that bring in the voices of persons with disabilities and other key stakeholders.
- Integrate Accessibility into Strategic Plans: Apply accessibility considerations within existing strategic planning processes using plain language and inclusive formats.
- Implement and Monitor: Build actionable implementation roadmaps by setting priorities, assigning responsibility, and establishing feedback loops that support continuous improvement.
