The ACE Lab was pleased to host 25 grade nine students from Earl of March High School in Kanata, Ontario on March 31, 2009. The tour was in affiliation with the Ottawa Centre for Research and Innovation (OCRI) and the Ontario Ministry of Education’s Passport to Prosperity program, which provides high school students with a chance to explore career options, gain valuable work experience and advance their skills. The students were introduced to the ACE Lab’s multi-disciplinary scientific approach to generating tractable hypotheses, designing and implementing experimental methodologies, and disseminating the results. The students were then given hands-on time with several of our research test platforms, including our driving and Cessna flight simulators, as well as our recently acquired large-scale visualization system.
