ACT to Employ facilitates meaningful employment opportunities for Carleton students and new grads with disabilities. We offer Employer Champions access to our talent pool as well as support, education, and resources to create inclusive experiential opportunities.
A pillar of our program is to equitably address the needs of the ACT employee and Employer Champion, to ensure a successful placement. Together with our ACT to Employ Student Counsellor and ACT to Employ Program Coordinator, we are committed to attending to employee and employer needs.
For our Employer Champions, end to end support may include:
- A pool of ready-to-work post-secondary students
- Access to exclusive networking and job fair events
- Consultation regarding inclusive job descriptions
- Advertising jobs through our exclusive ACT to Employ job board and newsletters
- Pre-arranging interview accommodations
- Informed guidance related to accommodations and disclosure during work terms
- Check-ins to maintain an open line of communication with our team
- Referrals to community service partners and funding sources, as available
- Non-judgmental expertise, education, resources and training related to disability and employment
