Prof. Laliberte joined Carleton in 2008 from the National Research Council Institute for Aerospace Research.  His research is focused on the development of novel aircraft systems including advanced additive manufacturing, lightweight composite materials and remotely piloted aircraft systems (“drones”).  He supervises a diverse research group including undergraduate, Masters, and Ph.D. students, and research assistants working on these projects in collaboration with industry and government partners.  In April 2019, Dr. Laliberte and a team from Carleton, University of Ottawa, ETS, Universite de Sherbrooke, UQO, and Queen’s University were awarded funding to establish a new NSERC CREATE Uninhabited aircraft systems Training, Innovation and Leadership Initiative (UTILI).
