A full-time paid internship is available for the Winter 2019 term in our lab.  The intern will work on an advanced fiber optic sensor system to detect the onset of corrosion in the metal bars used to reinforce concrete in large structures, such as tall buildings and bridges.  This work will involve the design and fabrication of sensor devices using laser irradiation and 3D printing, thin film deposition, and testing in real concrete samples. This project is carried out in partnership with a Canadian sensor systems company.

Applicants from Electrical, Civil, or Mechanical Engineering,  or Physics are welcome, from any university in Canada.  Salary will be in accordance with expectations for coop positions.
