- We welcomed a new research assistant for the Spring-Summer season in the APCLab: Frédéric St-Amand will work on fiber optic sensor systems and devices for various projects over the next 4 months. He is an undergraduate student in Engineering Physics at Ecole Polytechnique in Montréal.
- Fu and Tingting presented oral contributions at Photonics North 2019, which was held last week in Quebec city. I am told they enjoyed their time over there and learned a lot!
- I will be attending the 2019 International Congress on Glass (ICG’2019) in Boston during the second week in June to present an invited talk on the wonderful things you can do with tilted fiber Bragg gratings and how you can use them to better understand the material properties of the fiber itself!
