Biography

Award-winning science journalist Sarah Everts is an expert correspondent on some of society’s most pressing environmental, health and scientific issues. Everts joined the School of Journalism and Communication at Carleton University in 2019 after spending over a decade in Berlin, Germany, where she reported on science and technology for a variety of publications including Scientific American, The Economist, New Scientist and Smithsonian Magazine.

The CTV Chair in Digital Science Journalism at Carleton, Everts’ extensive body of writing has garnered many accolades. She is the author of a critically acclaimed, New York Times reviewed popular science book, which was named one of the Smithsonian’s 10 Best Science Books of 2021, and her work has featured in the annually published Best American Science and Nature Writing anthology.
