The National Centre for Critical Infrastructure Protection, Security and Resilience (NC-CIPSeR) at Carleton University invites experienced professionals and industry veterans to join our mission as Volunteer Researchers, Analyst & Mentors. This dual-faceted role allows you to make significant contributions to safeguarding Canada’s critical infrastructure while guiding and inspiring the next generation of experts. If you have a rich background in project management, intelligence, data analysis, cybersecurity, emergency management, or threat and risk assessment, and are driven by a desire to make a meaningful impact and nurture emerging talent, this opportunity is for you.

Responsibilities:

  • Research & Innovation: Drive the development and execution of cutting-edge research projects. Use your expertise to analyze trends, assess risks, and propose innovative solutions that enhance infrastructure resilience.
  • Mentorship & Development: Serve as a beacon of knowledge and experience, mentoring students and junior professionals. Share your insights and lessons learned to cultivate their professional growth and inspire excellence.
  • Collaboration & Outreach: Engage in collaborative efforts with academia, government, and industry to foster partnerships and knowledge exchange. Your contributions will amplify our collective impact on national and global resilience.
  • Knowledge Dissemination: Lead by example, creating and disseminating comprehensive research findings, policy recommendations, and thought leadership through various channels. Your voice will help shape the future of critical infrastructure protection.

Qualifications:

  • Expertise: Proven expertise in fields crucial to infrastructure protection, including but not limited to cybersecurity, data analysis, and emergency management. Your deep knowledge will be the cornerstone of our research and mentorship efforts.
  • Mentorship: A demonstrated track record of mentorship, showing a commitment to nurturing talent and fostering the next generation of professionals. Your guidance will help build a resilient and knowledgeable community.
  • Communication & Collaboration: Exceptional communication skills paired with the ability to work effectively across diverse teams and disciplines. Your leadership will enhance our collaborative research environment.
  • Innovation & Adaptability: A forward-thinking approach and adaptability to evolving technologies and methodologies. Your innovative mindset will drive our efforts to stay ahead of emerging threats.
