The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) released its sixth assessment report earlier this year. The report focuses on mitigation and details what must be done to avoid the worst outcomes of climate change. This week’s Noons for Now discussion will address the implications of this IPCC report while also providing a space for thinking about the process of crafting these documents – how they’re made, disseminated, and utilized.

Speakers:

Sarah Burch holds a Canada Research Chair in Sustainability Governance and Innovation, and is an Associate Professor in the Department of Geography and Environmental Management at the University of Waterloo. She is a Lead Author on the Sixth Assessment Report of the IPCC.

James Meadowcroft is a Professor in both the Department of Political Science and the School of Public Policy and Administration at Carleton Univeristy. He recently completed a 14-year term as a Tier 1 Canada Research Chair in Governance for Sustainable Development.
