“Aaron is primarily interested in language evolution, language emergence, and the potential to use iterated learning to engineer what he calls task-specific languages. To this end, much of his research involves studying how the articulation of dance and human movement provide an useful case study to delineate some of the boundaries of what natural language can and cannot express. Aaron is also interested in the role of prosody in language acquisition, word-boundary detection and bootstrapping, as well as modeling the emergence of prosodic systems through iterated learning. ”
