Aaron Barter manages projects focused on helping small- and medium-sized energy technology companies to achieve success in global markets. He works with Advanced Energy Centre partners and companies within the Ontario Network of Entrepreneurs to examine the barriers to deployment of innovative clean energy technologies in emerging markets and catalyze new utility partnerships here in Canada. He previously worked in government and private sector roles managing the development of large Canadian infrastructure projects, including project budgeting, managing construction operations, and coordinating diverse stakeholders. He holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Toronto with a specialization in sustainable energy technology.
How can we increase Canada’s role in the global clean energy industry? Aaron explored systemic barriers to the adoption of innovative energy technologies, such as smart grid, energy storage, and solar photovoltaics, and shared ideas on how Canadian entrepreneurs can grab a larger market share globally. The Advanced Energy Centre is a private-public partnership located at the MaRS Discovery District in Toronto. The Centre aims to enable the growth of energy technology ventures, in Canada and globally.
