Universities Canada has released a set of principles for institutions that can be followed to increase access for, and success rates of, Indigenous students.  Such guidelines follow in the wake of the release of the report of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission. At the same time, the National Aboriginal Economic Development recently released a report indicating that, in 2011, University completion rates of Aboriginal peoples in Canada was 10.2%, compared to 25.5% of non-Aboriginal peoples, and that this gap is growing.
