The Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Canada (TRCC) released a summary of its report, including 94 calls for action. The calls for action are broad in scope aimed at addressing gaps in education and health care, reducing inequities associated with child welfare and social justice. It includes a call for establishing a commission to investigate why there are over 1400 missing and murdered Indigenous women so that Indigenous girls and women in Canada continue to experience a lack of safety, and fear for their lives. The final report will be released in the fall, 2015.
