Bio

Currently entering my third undergraduate year in Aerospace Engineering, specializing in aerodynamics, propulsion, and vehicle performance. For as long as I can remember I have been interested in discovering how things work. One rocket build and from there it did not take long for me to settle on a career path involving aircraft, and how we as humans can soar through the skies. Carleton’s Aerospace Engineering program attracted my attention to pursue my higher education, combining my childhood interest of both aircraft and engineering, with an industry that is constantly pushing limits forward and beginning to address environmental impacts.

Alongside my desire to discover and create, I have grown up with a love for the environment. Frequently I can be found camping, hiking and canoeing throughout Ontario. Volunteering is another passion, from community clean ups to maintenance in Killarney Provincial Park.  The opportunity to combine my interest in engineering with my love of the outdoors and the environment makes working in the Energy and Particle Technology Laboratory, through assisting in the research of soot nanoparticle emissions from jet engines, a perfect fit. This will be an immeasurable experience that I am looking forward to.

EPTL Experience

Working at the EPTL with Professor Kholghy was an incredible experience. I had the opportunity to work on a joint project with the NRC on their campus, and the learnings I gained are invaluable. I developed skills in a large variety of areas, which included hands on research and laboratory skills, and operating a Flame Spray Pyrolysis Reactor with the Black Carbon Metrology Group of the National Research Council of Canada in Ottawa. I also learned how to create clear and precise engineering reports and presentations throughout my work-term. The experience working with Carleton’s EPTL will go a long way in both my studies, and future work opportunities. I would highly recommend the EPTL to anyone wishing to learn and develop skills, within a smart and supportive community.
