When I discovered the career path of aeronautical design quite suddenly, by surprise, and only a month before I needed to apply for university, I immediately decided to pursue it. I set my sights on aerospace and everything I have done since has been in pursuit of that goal. Thankfully, I can say that not only has my curiosity and passion for aerospace grown, but it has also developed to include combustion, sustainable energy, and research in general.
Through my undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering (University of Ottawa 2023), I was able to practice theoretical as well as hands-on work. It allowed me to hone my teamwork, organizational, and resiliency skills, alongside my applied math and physics skills. It was not until I was given the opportunity to put these skills to use for an undergraduate research project (2021-2023) that I began to truly focus on the field of combustion. I found enjoyment in the process of research and quickly became invested in uncovering results. My undergraduate degree has given me the most rewarding experience of exploration. However, despite all of the wonderful things I have gained from my degree, I feel as though I am ready for knowledge more specific to my goal. I am incredibly excited for the research adventure that this position has awarded me.
I one day hope to become a professor that has an active role in both research and industry so that I can continue to inspire the next generation of innovation.
