Is experiential learning the same as active learning?

No, but they have a lot in common.

Experiential learning is rooted in experiential learning theory that emphasizes learning through meaningful participation in and structured reflection on real or simulated experiences. Carleton defines experiential learning as “the application of theory and academic content to real-world experiences in the classroom, community, and/or workplace“.
