equipment2Innovative FRP piles for seismic resistant design

The project investigates the performance of fibre reinforced polymer (FRP) piles in clayey soils to evaluate the load transfer mechanisms, bond strength, and modes of failure under monotonic/cyclic axial and lateral loads. The FRP/soil interface properties are determined using shear box tests. FRP shells with different dimensions are installed and instrumented within large scale undisturbed clay samples. The testing programs encompass monotonic and cyclic axial/lateral load tests as well as dynamic load tests in accordance with ASTM standards D1143 and D3966.FRP-3
