Congrats to second-year undergraduate environmental engineering student, Hannah Villeneuve, for publishing her first journal article. She developed custom code to text-mine 1.35-million Airbnb reviews to identify patterns and trends for discomfort in homes. Among other things, she showed that reviews with comfort complaints are associated with much worse sentiment overall. 5% of reviews complain about comfort, with 60% of these being about acoustics.
