There will be a reception celebrating the opening of “Art on a Green Line,” curated by ICSLAC PhD candidate Johnny Alam, and presented in CUAG’s Carleton Curatorial Laboratory. The exhibition presents the work of contemporary Lebanese artists who came of age during Lebanon’s so-called “civil wars,” which took place from 1975-1990. Artists featured include Jayce Salloum, Hassan Choubassi, Joana Hadjithomas and Khalil Joreige, and Pierre Sidaoui.

The opening takes place on Monday 19 January at CUAG, and runs from 5:00 – 7:30 p.m. John Osborne will be our special guest speaker, and speeches will occur at approximately 6:00 p.m.

This is one of three exhibitions opening that night: the other two are “Akram Zaatari: All is Well,” and “Making and Marketing Art History in 18th-Century France.”

Thank you for your support of Johnny, and of CUAG, and Happy New Year!
