The Institute for Comparative Studies in Literature, Art, and Culture is pleased to announce an upcoming lecture by Professor Claire Farago. Professor Farago is an Art Historian and Professor Emerita at University of Colorado Boulder specializing in Early Modern art, theory, and criticism, as well as museum and collecting practices. Her talk titled, “Defining an Ecological Approach to Art History: On the History of Human Exceptionalism,” examines and identifies 16th century articulations of humanness that drew upon Aristotelian cognitive distinctions between humans and animals.
