Feng Chen
PhD Candidate
Feng graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Electromechanical Engineering from the University of Macau in 2016 and a Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Florida in 2018. His prior research experience includes studying the influences of thermomechanical treatments and cryogenic treatments on a slightly unstable austenitic stainless steel and gait analysis with reflective markers under 3-D high-speed camera. He also took part in a project which aimed to develop a patient-specific cutting guide system for the hip joint replacement surgery of humans. Feng’s current research focuses on performing impact tests on pig lungs and collect dynamic strain-field data to study the biomechanical behaviour of lung under such conditions. The results can be utilized for developing a new lung model that can be used in numerical simulation.
