Jonathan Pepper
MASc Candidate
Jonathan completed his bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering at Queen’s University with a specialization in materials science. He has gained industrial experience as a full-time consulting engineer while at H. H. Angus & associates. His current research investigates shock phenomena relating to the dynamic tensile failure (i.e. spall) of materials, with a focus on high-strain rate deformation of polymers and epoxy-composites. Jonathan’s work was awarded the best poster award (Metal Physics) at the 28th Canadian Materials Science Conference in June 2016. His research is part of a multi-year collaborative effort between Carleton University and the National Research Council of Canada.
