Andrew McGrath is Head of Communications for Canada, RBC Capital Markets and a graduate of the inaugural class of the Clayton H. Riddell Master of Political Management program.
Upon graduation, he served as Press Secretary to the Minister of Public Safety in the government of former Prime Minister Stephen Harper. He then went on to serve as Director of Communications and Issues Management to the Minister of Labour and Minister of Status of Women – a role he held until the 2015 Federal Election.
At RBC, Andrew leads the communication and public affairs activities in the 17 countries and territories that make up the bank’s Caribbean operations. Andrew and his team oversee internal and external communications, financial, risk, regulatory, and technology communications, media relations, and reputation management.
In addition to his MPM degree from Carleton, Andrew holds a Bachelor of Social Sciences degree from the University of Ottawa where he specialized in political science and public administration. He previously held roles with the Senate of Canada and the Insurance Bureau of Canada.
Born and raised in the Ottawa Valley, in Arnprior, Ontario, Andrew now lives in Toronto with his husband, Adam.
