Lucas is a Lead, Public Affairs, Canadian Nurses Association and is skilled international government relations expert with experience across a range of sectors, including Heath, Technology, Telecom, International Trade, Defence, Education, and Arts and Culture. He has a proven track record of assisting companies and associations advance public policy objectives, raise their profile and build relationships in Canada. Lucas also worked for a Member of Parliament, which gave him unique insight into government operations and parliamentary proceedings in Canada.
Lucas holds two master’s degrees (MBA in Government Relations from Fundação Getúlio Vargas and MPM from Carleton University), which have enhanced his professional experience by adding new tools and best-known practices to achieve advocacy goals. Lucas has also written articles on lobbying and technology.
Lucas has meaningful leadership and volunteer experience. He was elected to the Board of Directors of the Government Relations Institute of Canada (GRIC) and volunteers for the Canadian Advocacy Network to help charities and not-for-profit organizations advance their advocacy and public policy goals. In the past, he was also elected to the Board of Directors of the Brazilian Government Relations Association (ABRIG) and was president of Strategos, a political consultancy junior enterprise based in Brazil, where he led a team of 30 volunteers.
