To All Members of the Carleton Community,

We are engaged in a research project to better understand public perceptions of the university. This is the first comprehensive study of its kind done at Carleton in more than a decade.

A goal of the project is to collect data from a variety of sources to inform renewal of the university’s Strategic Integrated Plan. The data will also be used to examine Carleton’s brand in 2019 and beyond. An objective of the project is to create new baseline data and metrics that can be tracked over time.

The university has engaged The Strategic Counsel, a nationally-known market research firm that has completed studies for Canadian universities and is ranked among the best in Canada.

The 2019 Reputation Research Project will involve interviews and focus groups with internal and external stakeholders beginning this month.

That will be followed by online surveys of students, faculty, staff and alumni. Participation in the surveys will be critical. More information about timing will be provided in April-May.

I would like to encourage members of the Carleton community to please share your insights and opinions. We want to hear from you and your feedback matters.

Thanking you in advance,

Benoit-Antoine Bacon
President and Vice-Chancellor
