The Carleton University Privacy Office is responsible for ensuring compliance with a variety of internal privacy policies. These privacy policies govern how faculty, staff and contractors handle confidential or personal information received as part of their daily duties and responsibilities. These are the policies the Privacy Office enforces;
- Access to Information and Privacy Policy: This policy is the primary privacy policy that applies to all university operations involving confidential and personal information.
- Anti-Spam Compliance Policy: This policy governs the sending of Commercial Electronic Messages subject to Canada’s Anti-Spam Legislation.
- Personal Health Information Processing Policy: This policy applies strictly to the processing of personal health information for healthcare delivery purposes.
In addition, the Privacy Office shares responsibility with ITS for the Data Protection and Risk Management Policy.
