Theo Chiara
Inherent Rights Fellow
Theo is a recent graduate from Carleton University with an M.A. in Public Policy and Administration, and a specialization in Indigenous policy and qualitative research. He also holds a Joint Honours B.A. in Political Science and Philosophy from McGill University.
Theo currently works with the Office of the Commissioner of Indigenous Languages on their Research, Innovation and Partnerships team. He has also worked with Crown Indigenous Relations and Northern Affairs Canada as an Analyst in their Consultation and Accommodation Unit, where he helped develop guidelines to implement the United Nations Declaration Act.
Theo has strong family connections to the Kahnawake Mohawk community, and he has been working on learning Kanien’kehà:ka in his spare time.
