Leynek Medical

Project: Leynek Medical Inc. ReneCare Sensor System

2024 – 2026

Project goal: Leynek Medical Inc. is a start-up developing ReneCare™, an all-in-one platform that improves the lives of people managing complex diseases, such as cancer and heart failure. With a mobile app and proprietary handheld device, a patient can take their own vitals simultaneously at the press of a button and have anomalies sent to their formal Care team and keep their family informed.

The objective of this project is to explore specific methods (sensors and algorithms) to be used within the current concept Leynek Medical device for the assessment of cardiovascular related functions. The device plans to include two methods for the assessment of heart rate including an electrocardiogram (ECG) to measure heart function at the heart, a Photoplethysmogram (PPG) to measure cardiac function through blood flow at the fingertip. The project will focus on the sensors and methods for measurement of heart rate for the ECG and PPG methods including options for sensors and signal processing methods. The PPG will also be evaluated for the assessment of Oxygen level (Sp02) and the project will also explore the potential for the device to assess pulse transit time (PTT) which indicates blood velocity and can provide relative blood pressure indication.
