Nonna Afouxenidou

Nonna is a recent MA graduate of Carleton University from the program of European Russian and Eurasian studies. She has a BA (Hons) Degree from the University of Piraeus, Greece, in International and European Relations. She loves studying the interplay of multiple factors in the decision-making of the states when they decide upon foreign policy, foreign affairs and security matters.
Nonna is from Athens, Greece, and loves island hopping in the Aegean Sea during the summer months. Exploring new places, cities, and cultures are activities she enjoys the most. Even though she hasn’t visited many places in Canada, she can’t wait for her first camping trip adventure to discover the beauty of the Canadian outdoors. One of the places that she can’t wait to visit is Banff. In her free time, she can be found reading a good book, going for big walks in Gatineau Hills, and planning her next trip. Nonna is excited to be part of Shad Carleton 2024 and can’t wait to create unforgettable memories and unique experiences.
