Amy Bombay completed her PhD focusing on issues related to the well-being of First Nations people in Canada, with particular attention being placed on intergenerational trauma, perceived discrimination, and cultural identity, and how these factors interact in influencing mental health. She is currently a CIHR postdoctoral fellow at the University of Ottawa Institute of Mental Health Research, where she is assessing avenues toward diminishing the adverse influence of stressors on the depression, suicidality, and anxiety among First Nations people. She is actively engaged with Aboriginal groups, including the Aboriginal Healing Foundation.
