On October 24th, the SIM Social Work Research Lab hosted a visit from Dr. Marcelo Maghidman, who is the MSW course coordinator, unit co-coordinator, lecturer and researcher at the Social Work Department at Monash University (Melbourne, Australia).
During his visit, Dr. Maghidman met with School of Social Work Director and Lab Director Dr. Sarah Todd, Assistant Professor Dr. Karen Sewell, and Instructor Brenda Morris to discuss simulation-based learning in social work classrooms. Later that afternoon, Dr. Maghidman gave a presentation on the Social Work Simulation Program at Monash University. As Dr. Maghidman holds expertise in counselling skills education through simulation, the presentation provided us an invaluable opportunity to share strategies and opportunities for simulation pedagogy.
Thank you for your visit, Dr. Maghidman!
