On June 9th 2022, SIM Lab Co-Director Sarah Todd and Lab Research Manager Katherine Occhiuto presented at the Society for Teaching and Learning in Higher Education’s (STLHE) 2022 Annual Conference in Ottawa, Canada.
The presentation, titled Teaching for Uncertainty: Preparing for Interracial Counselling, highlighted what social work professionals and students might need to increase their competence for more effective practice across interracial and intercultural difference.
This presentation shared preliminary findings from our project (PI: Dr. Sarah Todd), “Knowing and Not Knowing: Navigating Uncertainty in Social Work Practice” and offered key pedagogical implications around teaching social workers how to navigate uncertainty around racial, ethnic and cultural differences.
